Purpose
Empowerdance Pty Ltd’s Access and Equity Policy is based on the following principles:
Providing and maintaining training services to reflect fair and reasonable opportunity, in consideration for all students and staff, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender and prevailing community values
Equity for all people through the fair and appropriate allocation of resources and involvement in vocational education and training
Equality of outcomes for all people involved in vocational education and training, with no discrimination
Access for all people to appropriate quality vocational education and training programs and services
Increased opportunity for people to participate in vocational education and training and in relevant decision-making processes within the vocational education and training system
Scope
This policy applies to all permanent and temporary staff that undertake training and assessment activities within Empowerdance Pty Ltd at any time.

All employees are responsible for ensuring that they understand and implement the policy and behave in a respectful, sensitive and non-discriminatory manner when dealing with other employees and students
Students
Students are also responsible for behaving in a respectful, sensitive and non-discriminatory manner when dealing with staff and other students

Discussion
Empowerdance Pty Ltd will strive to ensure that programs and services are relevant, accessible, fair and inclusive. This objective is to ensure that Empowerdance Pty Ltd adopts fair, equitable and non-discriminatory work practices to protect the rights of employees and students.
Empowerdance Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring that all students attempting the training courses will be equally afforded the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience to enable them to attain the competencies that they seek.
All new students will be individually interviewed and assessed on their eligibility for the service being provided. Selection will comply with equal opportunity legislation. No new student will be denied access to services where he/she is deemed eligible, and where the RTO has the appropriate facilities to provide that service.
Access and equity Principles are actively promoted within Empowerdance Pty Ltd by:
Ensuring that all students/clients have access to any policy they wish to view
Providing training and assessment staff with copies of the policies and relevant points of discussion at staff meetings
All staff are to be given fair and reasonable opportunity to participate in relevant decision-making processes
Ensuring that Empowerdance Pty Ltd maintains an ‘open door policy’ which will encourage our clients/students to communicate openly with staff, including their respective Trainers and other key RTO staff, as required
Students identified as having difficulties with literacy, numeracy and learning skills prior to attending a course at Empowerdance Pty Ltd will be counselled and referred to an appropriate educational facility to assist them
Any student encountering difficulty with any course units or attaining competency will be offered extra tuition and practice under the guidance in the form of mentoring and/or coaching, as required, with a trainer or assessor. This will assist him/her to attain the required course standard of prescribed competency. There will be no extra course fees or charges for this assistance
